- Academic average above 3.0
- Demonstrated academic potential based on aptitude and willingness to learn
- Interest in helping their community, friends, and/or family

Should any situation arise, such as those outlined below, the scholarship will be canceled.
- Scholarship recipients must maintain an acceptable grade point average, above 3.0. If the student’s average falls below the required grades per semester, they have until the end of the semester to raise it; otherwise, the scholarship will be canceled.
- Scholarship recipients must not be drug users or involved in drug dealing, nor must they abuse alcoholic beverages.
- Scholarship recipients must not be involved with the law, involved in felonies or misdemeanors.
- Scholarship recipients must maintain appropriate conduct and must not have behavioral problems at school or in their home environment.
- If the family’s economic condition improves considerably or for any reason it is understood that they do not need the scholarship, it may be assigned to another more needy young candidate.
